The single-family brick house is located by a lake. It has been designed as a multi-generational house, which can be divided into three zones: grandparents', parents' and children's (grandchildren's). On the ground floor, there is an independent grandparents' flat and a living area for the parents and children. In order to provide as much privacy as possible, the living rooms of these areas are located at opposite ends of the ground floor. They have high ceilings that reach up to the roof and open up to a beautiful view of the lake behind extensive glazing. The first floor of the house is designed for the parents and children. All functions are arranged to provide as much peace and privacy as possible for all family members. The bedrooms and lounge areas are oriented towards the lake, and each room has a large window overlooking the beauty of the surrounding nature. The elevation facing the lake is calm and open, thanks to large windows. In contrast, the street-facing façade is rather enclosed and aims to provide as much privacy as possible for the family. The building's construction is based on external load-bearing walls, which allows the interior layout to be easily modified and different scenarios for the future use and division of the interior space can be considered.
The compact form, three-layer external walls with 20 cm of insulation, external blinds and materials with high thermal capacity ensure thermal comfort regardless of the season. The 9.8 kW photovoltaic panels power a submersible heat pump and meet the house's electricity needs. The house is practically fully self-sufficient - only cold water supply in needed to enable it to function independently.
