The new City Forum is an architectural ensemble consisting of a building and a neighbouring square - these two elements are designed to form a lively and versatile social and cultural centre. The  building harmonises with the urban space and the surrounding context and serves as a link between different neighbourhoods, in particular City-Süd the city centre and the railway station.

The building has organic contours that shape the outdoor areas and a gently sloping roof that reflects the local topography. It presents itself with two inviting faces: from the railway station and the old town the lavish roof and the cubic of the concert hall, while from the An der Vogelrute Street the inviting façade with ceramic tiles and cantilevered roof attracts visitors.

The integration of the building into the public space is seamless. The spacious ground floor opens onto the square and offers a variety of functions, including an outdoor stage, a covered entrance area, a versatile foyer with a bar and conference rooms as well as a concert hall.

The open and accessible spaces encourage social interaction and cultural activities. The internal layout of the building is clear and transparent. On the ground floor there are changing rooms that meet the needs of bigger events, while the first floor houses offices. The concert hall is the centrepiece of the building and is surrounded by a spacious foyer. Skylights provide natural lighting and create a pleasant atmosphere inside.

Overall, the City Forum offers a versatile and attractive environment for various social and cultural activities. It is a place for encounters, creativity and exchange that characterises and enlivens the identity of the entire area.
